I really enjoyed this technology class. Before we started it, I was sort of apprehensive about taking it because technology has always been hard for me. Dan broke down the new things that he taught us and made the new things easy for us to do. Before this class, I had no idea how to use blogger, iMovie, Studiocode, and other technologies that we learned. Now, I because of this class, I can confidently make a website, have a blog, upload movies to studiocode, edit movies on iMovie, and so much more!
Because of this class, I will definately use technology in my future classes. I use to think that you did not need technology in pe classes, but this is wrong! Using technology is so helpful with organizing classes, showing and explaining difficult concepts, and so much more!
In my future pe classes, I plan on using google calendar all the time as a tool for upcoming events and daily activities. Also, I plan on having monthly online newsletters using google sites so that parents can see what their kids are learning in pe and to advertise fun, upcoming events.
This class changed the way that I look at teaching and technology in a positive matter. Now I am not afraid to use technology in my classes. Technology can help enhance learning and make classes more effective for students.

PhysicalEducationUpdate.com
PhysicalEducationUpdate.com is a great website because it gives all the latest updates on what is going on in physical education. This would be a great website for parents to use to see what their kids' are learning in pe. There are also many videos on this website that show the proper way to do a certain skill. I could use this websitewhen I teach new skills. If my students do not exactly remember how to do high-knees when they get home from school, they can look it up on this website! Also, there are fun pe games that are available for kids to play online. This website will be a great tool for my future classes.
LessonPlans4Teachers.com
LessonPlans4Teachers.com is another great tool to use as a physical education teacher. This website is full of lesson plans, worksheets, and more. Something that I really like about this website is that the lesson plans are provided by other physical educators! Another cool this about this website is that it has tons of ideas of what to do with students on rainy days or cold, wintery days! This website will be very helpful when I am trying to improvise and modify a lesson because it is to cold to go outside!
PE Central
PE Central is a great website that would be very effective to use in my future pe classes. This website has tons of lessons plans, lesson ideas, motivational tips for having kids participate, and so much more. This website is also a great way to connect with other physical educators and see what ideas they have. This is a great website that I plan to use.

Web 2.0 Tools
I had never heard of Web 2.0 until we talked about it in class. It was really interesting to find out about it. I had no idea how big of a thing Web 2.0 is. An application that I really thought was cool about Web 2.0 is wikis. I had never heard of a wiki efore--I had no idea even what a wiki was. Of course I knew about wikipedia, but that was the extend of my knowledge. Wikis are a great thing that I plan on incorporating into my future classes that I will teach. With a wiki, I can teach a new skill, and then have homework assigned to my students where they have to get on the wiki at home and fill in the cues and explain what we learned that day in class. By doing this, the students are saying what they have learned, and there fore will have a better understanding of the new skills. Wikis are a great tool that can greatly enhance learning.

Studiocode Reflection
I enjoyed doing this project. This is something that I have never done before, so it was all new for me. It was fun to figure out how to code different things and do different things to my teaching videos.
My main categories that I was showing were Management and Instruction. Under these main categories I had a total of 6 sub-categories. Under management, I had signals, when before what, and transitions. By coding these specific categories, I was able to see how my classroom management is. I saw that I am pretty good at giving and using signals and good with transitions, however, I noticed that I need to work on when before what. A lot of times my instructions are quite unclear, and the kids do not understand exactly what I want them to do. I now know that I need to work on clearer instructions in my when before what instructions so that the kids are not confused.
Under instruction, I had demo, cues, and circulation. Because of the instances I decided to code, I was able to see that I am pretty good at these three sub-categories. However, I need to demo better for the kids. Sometimes I just explain a new skill and don't actually demo it. Because of this, a lot of times the kids are confused and aren't sure how to do the new skill. I also need to keep saying short, easy to remember cues so that the kids can easily remember them.
Next semester, I need to work on both instruction and management. I need to make sure to give short, easy to remember cues, demo all new skills, circulate around entire class, give signals and expect kids to obey them, explain when before what so everyone understands, and have transitions that effectively get kids to exactly where I want them to be.

How could filming myself teach and reviewing the film help me become a better teacher?
Filming yourself teach and then reviewing that film is a great way for you to improve as a teacher. Reviewing these films will help you see all the ways that you successfully taught a concept, controlled the class, and many other positive things. Reviewing these films also helps you see the areas that you need to improve on, such as class discipline, times when you didn't explain cues properly, and other things. Personally I really like watching myself teach because then I can see how the kids and I are enjoying the activity. It is also really fun to watch yourself because then you can see how much you improve with each lesson.
